Terms of Use

Last updated: January 8, 2026

By accessing or using The Pinewood Kitchen ("the site"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We have tried to keep these terms readable for normal humans.

1. Use of recipes and content

All recipes, writing, photographs, and original content on this site are the work of Sarah Mitchell unless otherwise noted. You are welcome to:

  • Cook the recipes for yourself, your family, your friends — that is the whole point
  • Print recipes for personal use
  • Share a link to a recipe on social media or your own blog
  • Adapt recipes for your own home cooking

You may not:

  • Republish entire recipes or articles on another site without written permission
  • Sell or commercially distribute the content
  • Use our writing or photographs in advertising, AI training datasets, or commercial publications without permission
  • Remove credit when sharing

If you would like to use our content beyond what is described above, please get in touch through the contact page. We are usually agreeable when asked.

2. Cooking at your own risk

The recipes on this site are tested in our home kitchen. We provide them as-is, in good faith, with the understanding that home cooks have varied equipment, ingredients, and skill levels. You are responsible for cooking the recipes safely, knowing your own dietary restrictions, and using common sense around hot surfaces, sharp knives, and food storage.

We are not responsible for any harm that comes from following the recipes — undercooked meat, allergic reactions, kitchen fires, hurt feelings when family members do not love what you made. Cook with care and use your judgment.

3. Comments and user-submitted content

Comments and other user-submitted content are the responsibility of the person who submitted them. By submitting a comment, you grant us a non-exclusive license to publish and display it on the site. We reserve the right to edit or remove comments that are spam, hateful, off-topic, or otherwise inappropriate. We do not edit comments to change their meaning.

By submitting content, you confirm that the content is your own original work or that you have the right to share it.

4. Newsletter

By subscribing to the newsletter, you agree to receive periodic emails about new recipes and occasional kitchen reflections. You can unsubscribe at any time through the link at the bottom of any email.

5. External links

We occasionally link to other websites for context or further reading. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites. Their privacy policies and terms apply to your interactions with them.

6. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally to reflect new practices or legal requirements. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

8. Contact
