Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how The Pinewood Kitchen ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit our website. We try to keep this short and human-readable.
Information we collect
When you visit our site, we automatically collect basic technical information that your browser sends — your IP address, browser type, the page you came from, and the page you are viewing. This is the standard server log information that nearly every website collects.
If you choose to leave a comment, subscribe to our newsletter, or send us a message through the contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide. We use that information solely to respond to you or send the newsletter you signed up for.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies for essential functions: keeping the comment-author field filled in if you have commented before, and remembering that you dismissed our cookie banner. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites.
If we add analytics in the future, we will use a privacy-respecting analytics service that does not require cookies (such as Plausible or similar). At the time of this writing, no third-party analytics are running on this site.
How we use your information
- To respond to your messages and recipe questions
- To send the weekly newsletter, if you have subscribed
- To moderate comments and prevent spam
- To diagnose technical problems with the site
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to build a profile about you.
Third-party services
The site uses a single content delivery network (Cloudflare) to serve images and CSS quickly. Cloudflare may collect basic technical information for security purposes. Their privacy policy is available on their site.
The newsletter, when active, is sent through a privacy-respecting email provider that does not include tracking pixels by default.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. You can request the deletion of any comment or message you have sent us by emailing the contact address. You can use a browser extension to block cookies if you prefer; the site will continue to work normally.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through our site, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally to reflect new practices or legal requirements. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change. Material changes will be noted on the site for at least 30 days.
